The Original Newgrounds Chat, aside from the stickam room and probably some google+ chat room, is all that is left chat wise. This chatroom has collectively existed for 15 years, before newgrounds was even a proper website - so it's old, it has history, and we like it that way.

In addition we are also looking for daytime mods to moderate the room while most of us are busy working. If you are a mod from radiochat who isn't already a mod in our room, or are an experienced user, or mod on newgrounds - let us know! Most mods, unless already mods of existing chats, have to go through a 2 week "loyalty" test before made a mod - we have to make sure you're gonna stick around!

Now for some History:

The Original Newgrounds Chat:

The original newgrounds chat was run on the irc network about 15 years ago and was run by Wade himself - eventually though events occured and Wade left - the room then moved to various people and now resides with me.

You can view it all in it's wonderful historical glory - it still runs strong for those who are aware of its existance and you can see it's supporters in those on newgrounds who still wear it in their sigs as a badge of honour.

So yeah come in.. chill with the oldies.. and link the room in your sigs as an oldschool badge of honour!

And yes it looks crappy.. it's old, it's functional, we like it that way.. and if you don't liek it.. well then you don't deserve to be there.

In addition the room is heavily moderated and rules are strictly enforced. If you get banned or kicked then 99% of the time you truly deserved it. Sometimes users are kicked for fun though or if certain words are triggered - don;t take offense - just roll with it and rejoin the room by typing /j #newgrounds.com

in addition if you plan to reg in the room you should auth. You can find instructions for authing by going to www.quakenet.org and going to q faq: registering with q. It will tell you to msg q and to enter your email TWICE. This is like most sites where it is done to verify you entered your email correctly.

Also as it stands the old newgrounds chat revs up mostly around 4:30 pm newgrounds time on weekdays - there is spatterings of conversation in the morning and before this but don't expect to get a lot of response from people - since the userbase is mostly aged 20 and up users we tend to work, and thus idle in the room, responding if someone says our username etc.

We also gave up on having a lot of people for a few good people to chat with. So come in and chat, but remember, you gotta talk, or we won't talk back.
